One day my senior year of high school, my friends and I decided to skip school and go to the park to play basketball. We planned to return to school at 4pm when school is dismissed. The park opened at 9am and closed at 7pm. We arrived to the park at 11am to play. When we entered the establishment we had to pay $3 to enter per person in order to play. Also the people who weren’t driving had to contribute to the gas money. We stopped playing at around 2:45 and made our way back to the school.
We used are math skills in determining several factors of our plan. We used math to calculate how long we would be at the gym and when we would leave. We used our math skills in determining the total cost for us all to play. We also used our math skills in determining how much and to whom the gas money would be distributed. It is essential in using your math skills outside of the class room in everyday life in order to function in society.
